Our story
I founded Helping Hands by Friends after more than 23 years of working within the healthcare system - serving in retirement and nursing homes, private residences, hospitals and community care. Over those years, I have witnessed countless stories of individuals and families navigating moments of vulnerability, recovery, and hope.
What I’ve learned is simple but powerful: honesty, respect, and compassion are the heart of quality care. Every person has unique needs, but they all deserve to feel valued, understood and supported.
Our mission is to provide care that not only meets medical and daily living needs but also nurtures dignity and independence. We believe that when people can maintain even a small sense of independence, it can profoundly improve their confidence, comfort, and quality of life.
